The Warriors currently have a record of 6 wins and 2 losses after they defeated the Prowlers last Tuesday night 2 to 1 in overtime at TRF.  Jared Bethune, one half of the Young Guns, was responsible for both of the Warrior goals.

Bethune (Quincy George) scored his first goal in the second period.  TRF’s Logan Ose also scored in the period.

In the overtime Warroad’s Ben Smieja did a great job hustling and keeping the puck alive in the offensive zone. He shot and Bethune was able to clean up on the rebound, getting enough of the puck that it fluttered across the goal line.

The Warrior’s Justin King played tough in the nets, stopping 24 of 25 shots.  Tanner Holmes faced 23 shots.

Warroad will not be on the ice again until the 27th where they will take on Grafton when they will kick off their Hockey-Town Holiday Classic tournament.  They will also play Osseo and International Falls on successive days.
